On a lovely warm day we set off for Chessington World of Adventures (me, my daughter, her dad and 2 of her friends). Being someone who has had a good few sat nav problems, I was glad to see how well signposted the theme park was. We arrived before the park opened and parked in one of the many available car parks. After a short walk from the car park to the theme park entrance, we got into the queue. After not long the gates opened and my daughter, her friends and her dad queued to buy their tickets. I had my Merlin Entertainments Annual Pass with me, being a Merlin Annual Pass Ambassador for the year.
Once we entered the theme park, my daughter and her friends wasted no time at all going on as many rides as possible. Favourites of my daughter and her friends included Kobra and Monkey Swinger in Wild Asia, Rameses Revenge in The Forbidden Kingdom, The Black Buccaneer in Pirates Cove, The Rattlesnack in Mexicana and the Vampire ride in Wild Woods. My favourites were The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, Zufari and the zoo area of the theme park.
We took our own food and drink into the park and they worked our way through them over the course of the day (there are plenty of places to sit down and eat). I opted to have a chilled out lunch in the pizza, salad and pasta all you can eat and drink buffet restaurant on site, Adventure Point Pizza Pasta. This costs £9.50 for adults and £5.25 for children. I really enjoyed the food and drink at the restaurant. Staff were friendly. The theme park has plenty of other restaurant options for those who would prefer a different type of cuisine.
I am disabled and cannot manage long queues for rides. I did just want to mention how great the ride access pass system is. You can get a photo card done which lasts a year and then have a ride access pass for each visit. This allows you to queue in a separate queue for one turn on each of several rides. See the guide for how many people you can take on each ride. This was a fantastic way for myself to enjoy my day without long queues.
We could have easily spent 2-3 days at Chessington World of Adventures, so do consider buying an annual pass for the theme park itself or a Standard or Premium Merlin Annual Pass. There are date restrictions with a Standard Pass so you do have to take a look and consider which one would be most suitable for you. With a Premium pass parking is included.
I would rate our day out 5/5 for fun, value for money, staff friendliness and quality. We cannot wait to visit again.
