A coat made out of recycled plastic bottles, is there such a thing? And would it do its job? Can you keep warm and keep green, well apparently yes you can with this fab Charlie McLeod Eco Sports Cloak. This fab coat which comes in a variety of colours and patterns, is made from recycled PET plastic. How amazing is that. Approx. 110 recycled plastic bottles are used to produce one Eco Sports Cloak. This Eco Cloak comes in sizes XS, S/M and L/XL. I am a curvy girl, so went for L/XL and there is plenty of room to wear and get changed in this Eco Cloak. You can choose from a variety of colours, and you can go for plain or camo patterned. This is a stunning looking jacket.

This cloak is a fantastic bit of kit. I know it is mainly used for changing after outdoor swimming but we have used it for lots of different things. If like us, you have a football playing child, this coat is a game changer. I can wear it whilst watching him play and keep warm and toasty and more importantly dry. And then when he comes off the pitch covered in mud and soaking wet, he can keep warm in the cloak but also get changed at pitch side whilst wearing it as so much room in them. This Eco Cloak is water proof and has two large Sherpa fleece lined pockets on front to keep your hands nice and warm. And a smaller Velcro fastening pocket which is great for your keys and phone etc. It also has a discreet zip up pocket at chest height on coat. The two smaller pockets are waterproof inside as well. The Eco Cloak has a double zip so you can undo from the bottom of the Cloak. And most importantly the inside is Sherpa fleece lined, just what you need when you are wet and cold. It really warms you up quickly and keeps the wind out. Cloak also has a fully lined hood. Inside the Cloak, there is a small zip up pocket at top and large mesh pocket at bottom. The mesh pocket would be handy for goggles etc. The sleeves on this one are full length with elasticated cuffs to keep the cold out. Once on, I was expecting it to be really heavy but it’s not. It’s so deceiving, as its light but keeps you so warm. Honestly, it’s like been snuggled up in a big duvet. Perfect for those cold rainy days.

I think you could use this coat for any outdoor sports, where you need to get warm after, and perfect for getting changed out of wetsuits, swim wear or wet sports clothes. We will take this with us next year when we go to the caravan, for when people want to get changed at the beach. It is a jacket that has many uses. But what about when it’s wet inside after getting changed in it? Well, the Eco Cloak also came with its own dry bag. We found the dry bag fits the Eco Cloak in and our wet clothes. This saved my car boot from getting wet whilst travelling home.

I know this Eco Cloak is the cheapest out there on the market, but is it worth the extra? I think so. It ticks all the boxes, including doing a little bit for the planet. I think that alone, is worth paying a little extra.
