Brewers Fayre The Coach House, Manchester Review

Reviewed by Gemma Berkul

I was lucky enough to be chosen to review the Coach House in Trafford, Manchester – a Brewers Fayre restaurant.

On arrival we were greeted by a warm welcome from a member of staff from behind the bar. Then another member of staff came and explained that during the week you can choose from the ‘themed all you can eat buffets’ or the main menu. He explained that it was an Italian night and showed us the buffet. He told us what each dish was. He then showed us to our table and he was very accommodating. He realised we had a small child and as a result he sat us near the play area. My daughter was also given a colouring book and crayons which kept her entertained for a while whilst the food arrived. We were informed that once we have looked at the menu that we need to order at the bar. The menu had most of the food I would expect and is reasonably priced. My daughter enjoyed choosing from the children’s menu as it had photographs next to each dish. During the week you can dine for 2 meals for £10 which I think is an excellent deal.

The food arrived in a good expected amount of time and staff were pleasant. The food was hot and had good presentation. The gap between each course was just right. Every time staff took away the plates and bought each course they were friendly and asked if everything was ok. I can’t fault the service at all.

My husband ordered steak and I ordered ribs. The food was as we expected. It wasn’t fine dining but it is good value for money. The portion size was more than adequate. My daughter, husband and I did thoroughly enjoy the deserts and would recommend the treacle tart and ice-cream, the chocolate fudge cake and my daughter had the dunking donuts.

I think this venue is great for families as there is a large play area. It wasn’t particularly busy when we went but there were a lot of families around. There was a self-contained play area .Within the play area there was a soft play area (including slides, ropes and a ball pool), rides and machines to win and buy toys. The play area closed at 8pm which I think is an appropriate time.

Overall I would recommend this venue if you want a friendly service, reasonably priced food and somewhere for families.
