Bocketts Farm Review

Reviewed by Emma Booth

I recently visited Bocketts Farm in Surrey, a working family farm complete with play areas, with my mum and 2 children aged 15 months and 8 years. Being the summer holidays I was pleasantly surprised to find no queues to pay and we swiftly got in. Once in you’re surrounded by huge and various indoor play areas, there were play areas suitable for all ages.

My little one enjoyed the farm track with all the ride-on tractors that they can ride around the track, through the tunnel, over the bridge, fill up for fuel and park up. Then there were the trampolines. There was a lovely big soft play with a great four lane slide. There was also another soft play area hidden through the crafty corner. There was plenty of seating with a handy coffee bar located inside selling very reasonably priced snacks and drinks.

We headed off outside to find the animals. First off, we made our way through the stables and said hello to all the lovely horses and up to the big animal barn. Here we met some pigs, cows, sheep, goats, donkey and llamas. We had brought a couple of bags of food when we first arrived and here there was plenty of animals to feed. There were also some gorgeous piglets and kid goats to see. We then took a long stroll around the paddocks to see the other various animals. The animals all seemed so happy and content, it was a lovely relaxing walk and was amazing to see the herd of deer grazing,

The outdoor play areas were everywhere. My eight-year-old daughter’s favourite was the pedal go-karts and my little boy loved the big sandpit area. There are loads of slides and lots of areas to climb and explore and for the younger ones. They have a smaller go-karting track and a separate jumping pillow. Throughout the day there are various other activities they have the animal handling and goat milking. I’d strongly recommend taking the tractor ride, it costs an extra £1.50 each but is well worth the trip taking a bumpy ride further around the farm where you can even see the London skyline.

The pig racing is also a definite must see and it’s such great fun. We also did the pony ride, which was £2 a ride. I must say I was slightly disappointed at the length of the ride and thought with all the woods around a better track could be made.

We managed to find time to stop for some great tasting and great value food in the old barn tearooms. I really enjoyed my cooked breakfast and the kid’s meals were equally as nice. We all had such a great day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and even though it’s summer holidays it wasn’t hectic. I would definitely recommend this as a must do over the summer or at any time of the year.

Bocketts Farm has so much to offer – there’s also water wars and maze, chickens, chinchillas and so much more. A fun family day out for all.
