Bobux Bird on a Wire Milk/Lilac Shoes Review

Reviewed by Jonathan Edwards

I received the Bobux Bird on a Wire print milk/lilac shoes in size ‘S’ which covers 3-9 months or the ‘newborn and pre-walker’ stage (available in sizes up to XL – 2 years). I have been using these with my 6-month-old daughter as she loves to be on her feet wherever we are and is starting to take steps with help.

My first impression of the product was good as the box that the shoes arrived in was very smart with clear information. The shoes were boxed with packaging that consisted of a clear plastic front panel which meant you could immediately see what the shoes were like. This showed the product well and is a good design. The box was slightly dented on arrival so although it seemed quite sturdy overall, this did detract from the overall positive look and first impressions. The packaging fitted together well however and it was easy to open and a good size for the shoes inside. I liked how clear the information on the packaging was; it detailed what stage of walking the shoe would be suitable for and the age of child, as well as displaying signs which approved the suitability of the product for a child. As a parent, I found this information very encouraging.

The shoes themselves are very nicely designed and good quality. The size I received was ‘S’ which covers 3-9 months and whilst they were still a little bit big for my daughter, the elasticated ankle meant that she could still wear them comfortably and they didn’t fall off. This has been an issue with other shoes so I really liked the elasticated feature around the ankle. They are very soft but durable and are designed to allow children to move naturally. My daughter, who enjoys being on her feet and is starting to learn to walk with help, has appeared to be very comfortable in them. As I previously mentioned, they are still a little bit big for her so I think that when her feet fit more fully into the shoes she will really feel the benefit of the flexible design; at the moment, she does sometimes struggle a little bit to step in the same way she does without shoes on because they are bigger. This is the main negative of the product for me but it doesn’t stop me from putting her in the shoes as they look nice and very soon she will fit them well and they will be more functional. The design on the shoes is subtle but pretty which means they go well with a number of different outfits and they feel like they would last a long time.

Overall the shoes are very well made, comfortable, pretty and practical and I would recommend them to other parents to use. One of the great benefits is that you can put your child on their feet anywhere when they’re wearing them and not worry about their feet or socks getting cold or dirty. They are also easily portable if you don’t want your child to wear them all the time so you can just pop them on in a couple of seconds when you need them. If I was going to buy one pair of shoes for my child at the pre-walker stage I would definitely buy these and would consider £20 to be a good price because they fit so well and have all the benefits mentioned above.
