Wow what an amazing show! The cast did a fantastic job of captivating the audience throughout the emotional rollercoaster which is Blood Brothers.
The entire cast were flawless and kept the audience immersed for the duration of the show. Lyn Paul, who played Mrs Johnstone, was exceptionally outstanding. The narrator was a nice touch and heightened emotions. Singing was excellent, how Lyn Paul was able to sing during the last scene when it was so fuelled with raw emotion, is totally beyond me, she truly is a talented actress.
We all laughed in the funny places, took serious scenes seriously and cried when it was sad. We enjoyed the journey the production crew took us on. The script, the cast and the production team delivered an equal balance of comedy, drama and emotion. The execution of it all was simply brilliant and the whole audience gave a well-deserved standing ovation.
As I was unfamiliar with the local area I followed road signs for theatre parking and ended up parking in a multi-storey car park which was a 5-10-minute walk from the theatre. However, when we reached the theatre I discovered that there was another multi-storey car park right next to the theatre, so parking is plentiful.
Upon arrival the staff were welcoming and friendly. The facilities were clean, easily accessible and well presented. We arrived a little early so spent a short while before the show in the café. We had snacks and drinks which was pleasant and reasonably priced.
I would highly recommend both Blood Brothers and Aylesbury Waterside Theatre to anyone considering going, even if you’re not considering it, go anyway, you won’t regret it!
A fantastic evening was most definitely had and huge well done to the entire cast, crew and theatre staff.
