Myself, a friend and her 9 year daughter recently visited Coreys Mill Beefeater Grill in Stevenage for an evening meal. It is very easy to get to and there is a large car park that is free to visitors of the restaurant, Pay and Display to everybody else.

On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant, polite, friendly and helpful staff who introduced themselves. We were taken upstairs to our table, the bar area was downstairs, into a large family restaurant area. The restaurant area was very clean and tidy and roomy so everybody was not crammed in together.  The hostess gave us our menus and explained from which sections we could order from, there is a breakfast, daytime and evening menu. Rosie was given a children’s menu with kids games on the back of it and a packet of crayons to keep her amused. We were than introduced to our waitress for the evening, Lisa. Our drinks orders were taken and arrived quickly and then we were left to decide what we wanted to eat (Rosie had already checked their website before leaving home and had already decided).

We decided to skip starters and ordered our main meals:

I decided to have a well done 8oz Sirloin Steak served with Beefeater Grill speciality butter (onion. herb and mustard), half a grilled tomato, a grilled flat mushroom and plain or spicy bottomless chips, I chose the plain chips as I am not a lover of spicy food. You also have the option to substitute the tomato and mushroom for a mixed salad and onion rings.

My friend went for the Giant Chicken Skewer, large chunks of tender chargrilled chicken breast on a skewer served with bottomless chips, coleslaw, Piri Piri sauce, battered onion rings and corn on the cob (you can have a mixed salad rather than onion rings and corn on the cob).

Rosie, who had already decided what she was having for the varied kids menu, ordered a 5oz rump steak (well done), garlic bread and tortilla chips.

All the meals were very well cooked, prepared and presented. Rosie, who I have never seen clear her plate wherever we have eaten, finished every last bite including her Banana Split for dessert. That in itself is a testament to how good the food was.

There are varied menu choices with steaks, grills and burgers, pastas and salads, vegetarian, side orders, desserts as well as Sunday roasts and menus for children and even a babies menu (for younger guests 7 months +). There is also a value menu for daytime and evening with meals starting from £4.99 (see website for details). You can also join The Reward Club that gives you points for every pound that you spend so that every 500 points you get a £5 voucher, a great idea if you eat out regularly.

Overall, the food was excellent and is great value for money. The restaurant is very family friendly with excellent professional and polite staff members making it a good atmosphere to eat your meal without being rushed. I would definitely recommend Coreys Mill and hope to be back soon.
