Bambooties are so very cute, they are wriggle proof baby booties. I was sent a charming pair to review. The ones I received are cream winter booties. Sized 0-6 months. They are so soft made from 100% super soft cotton. With a double grey lining. They are ideal as pre-walkers and will keep babies little feet and toes warm and cosy. The great thing about these booties is they actually do stay on, to enable this the design is double elastic with two straps that do up around the ankle making these bootees very secure. So many boottees do not stay on, so you are constantly either putting them back on or trying to find the one that has fallen off and has been lost. Your little one will not have sweaty feet as these are also are breathable.
They can be washed at 30 degrees.
They have been tested on babies before these claims were made, not just on sleeping babies, but wiggly ones. I tried them on my friends new baby and they did stay on.
Each pair are hand made by a small team of ten people based in Delhi India. The booties cost £20, you are paying £10 for the actual booties, £5 to the seamstress in India and £5 to women and babies in need via ActionAid. This means every time you purchase a pair you are helping another mother and baby that have to leave home and have absolutely nothing.
The company have various Bambooties to purchase. Including Blue Denim, Blue Maroon Patterned, Pink and Blue Pattern, Green Pattern and Blue winter they all cost £20 a pair and are sized from 0 months to 24 months.
The packaging is all recyclable and has been recycled, they are wrapped in tissue paper and are in a small cardboard box. The filling inside the boots is made from waste textile fibres alas this cannot be recycled, the company are looking for an alternative.
The company was formed when Lucy became mummy to Layla in 2017 and could not find anything that would stay on her feet. Lucy spoke to other mums and realised this was actually a problem for them all. So Lucy went through various options and tests until she could create the right product. Lucy wanted these to be made ethically and that all profits went to ActionAid providing care packages for a women and child in need. Lucy sounds a lovely lady and certainly someone I would be happy to buy from. My granddaughter is almost two years old and has quite big feet. I would still buy these for her if bigger sizes were available as a slipper.
If you look on the website you can find out about the company in much more detail.
These would make a great gift for a baby shower or when baby arrives.
I would certainly award them 5/5 stars, they really are beautifully made and the only ones I have ever known to stay on.
