We had never been to a comedy show before so were a little unsure what to expect however having seen Ardal O’Hanlon in Father Ted and My Hero we were sure it was going to be an entertaining evening.

The warm up act was a comedian called Pat Cahill who despite having a slightly erratic act seemed to keep everyone entertained. The theatre didn’t erupt into fits of laughter quite the same as when Ardal took to the stage but as a warm up act it wasn’t bad.

After the interval Ardal came to the stage and kept us entertained with tales of growing up, dreams of becoming a footballer and being brought up as an Irish Catholic. These were all topics most people could relate to and so kept the audience entertained and plenty of laughter could be heard throughout the show. He begins with a little bit of audience interaction, referring back to one individual a couple of times during the show which adds to the fun. Anecdotes just seem fall off his tongue and as he is so easy to listen to the hour just flew by.
