Lynda La Plante’s successful crime drama is back for the fourth and final time in Silent Scream with all 3 episodes.
24 year old actress Amanda Delaney who is addicted it sex, drugs and self-harming is found murdered in her flat. There is no sign of a break in suggesting that she knew her killer.
DCS James Langton (Ciaran Hinds) takes charge of the case. He has been turned down for promotion and is convinced someone on his team sold him out. Angry at the thought he is intent on working with his old team and finding out who stitched him up.
As Langton along with DI Anna Travis (Kelly Reilly) and the rest of the team delve into the past of the young actress they became buried in secrets and lies and some of Amanda’s are murdered for knowing too much.
Overall Silent Scream is a great police drama. Very well written with strong characters. With Travis still not a team player and Langton on his own personal mission mixed in with bizarre world of a young and successful actress, murdered for a reason they have to work out the story grips you and keeps you watching. The characters are very believable and very well portrayed.
My only criticism is that this is the last series. It’s sad that these are the last episodes as Above Suspicion has been a great series.
Highly recommended, a joy to watch.
