AYU Make Up Review

Valentine’s Day is looming on the horizon and with so many choices out there for the perfect gift it can seem bewildering, so I was really pleased to be given the opportunity to try out some beauty products from the AYU brand. AYU is an Irish based and owned cosmetics Company set up by the well-known makeup artist, Suzie O’Neil and includes a wide range of different cosmetics and make up. From individual mascaras to lip and eye gift sets there is something for every option and budget, so I was very excited to receive a parcel containing six items from the range.
These were: – Perfect Pout Lip Set (£13.25), Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Set (£22.10), Glamour Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (£24.30), Sara Lip Kit (£28.72) and two boxed Liner & Lashes (£21.21 each), one brown & one black.

The presentation of these products is excellent with every item looking classy, making an expensive looking gift without the premium price tag. All items come separately boxed and set in a cardboard sleeve with simple, yet classical branding in either black or white with gold AYU inscription, they definitely look like a gift you would like to receive.
The AYU Glamour Eyes Eyeshadow Palette contains five separate colours of shadow ranging from nude to a dark brown, encased in a smart black case with simple gold AYU branding, it is a really useful selection of colours which will take you easily from day to night wear. To complement the eyeshadow is the fabulous Liner & Lashes, a dual eyeliner and mascara in one. Ergonomically shaped like a pen, one end has a neat twist up liner and the other a slimline mascara, a must have product for your handbag.

Should you want something a little more special for the evenings then the Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Set would be your go too set. Inside the box are three beautifully shaped lip gloss style shadows in various shades of bronze and gold. Again, a premium looking product, the liquid shadow just glides on using a sponge applicator and smooths into the skin, its not heavy or sticky at all and it doesn’t drag the delicate skin on your eyelids.

For every day, a good start for great looking lips would be the Perfect Pout Lip Set. Containing a gold encased lip stick style scrub, which is not rough as it sounds but soft and creamy with a hint of coconut, and a tube of lip balm, my lips felt soft with not a hint of dryness after just one application.

For an evening transformation the Sara Lip kit comes into its own, containing three essential products for your glam night out. The Chloe lip liner, a soft crayon type pencil in a red/brown colour, the Sara lipstick, a full-sized gold encased deep red lipstick and the Sara Lip Gloss a sticky long lasting gloss in the same deep red. From daytime to evening glamour, AYU have a gift set or individual boxed product that would make anyone an amazing gift or why not blow the budget this Valentine’s Day and make up your own make up hamper from the huge selection of cosmetics on their website, including foundations, concealers & make up brushes. Whatever your budget you will surely find the perfect gift.
