Pivo Pod Lite Review

Let me tell you the Pivo Pod Lite is an endless supply of fun. At the grand age of 50 I’m not the most tech savvy but even I managed to create some really nice content with this little gadget! That was until the younger generation confiscated it for their enjoyment.

The Pivo Pod Lite comes in 7 different colours meaning there is a colour to suit everyone. I opted for the light blue which is almost pastel in colour and would suit most of the people in my family group.

First thing that struck me was the sturdy little box, it was not over packaged which makes life easier for putting it away between uses. Ensuring the device is well protected and limiting the possibility of damage. Inside the box you get your Pivo neatly situated inside a sturdy plastic casing, a handy quick start guide, which I highly recommend keeping a hold of until you are familiar with the lights and a charging cable. The quick start guide also contains a QR code that when you open your camera on your phone it automatically scans the code and takes you to the Pivo store to download the relevant apps.

There are several apps available for download and they do take a bit of playing around with to work out which is best for you or indeed which one you need for the activity in hand. Believe me this is where the fun is at and I’ve still not tried out all the options or features. I initially tested this out on my own using the auto tracking to dance around the living room (as you do). The device followed me around flawlessly which was rather impressive. Then with the aid of my 2 social media guru’s age 23 & 12 we continued to explore the features further and created some pretty impressive TikTok content, changing clothes and utilising the app to appear to walk behind a lamp post wearing one item then back out the other side without losing a stride wearing another. The Pivo did a disappearing act for a couple of days while both girls social media accounts became busy with some amazing and creative content before it found its way back home to me.

Being a little less creative once returned to me I’ve utilised the Pivo for some more practical and less artistic purposes. The absolute joy in this device is I no longer need a cameraman! I can film the content I want and need without having to rely on anyone else or fit into someone else’s agenda.

I’ve recorded training sessions with my pup confidently knowing I don’t need to keep him in a specific space as the Pivo will follow us within reason. Turning 360 degrees to capture our session without restricting the natural movement of a young animal and making the training sessions more productive. I’ve then managed to review the content and analyse the recordings to adjust the next training session accordingly. Making this an ideal gadget for business people that need to reflect on their own practice regularly. Less successfully I attempted to use it while working with my horse and the device kept turning around and recording other things rather than us. This by no means is a criticism, I believe I need more time to work with the device and the app to resolve this issue as everything else we have captured has been phenomenal.

So who is the Pivo for?…well the box is full of youngsters but in my opinion any one of any age that finds themselves needing a cameraman/woman would benefit from this. No one to direct as to where to stand and what you want. Just set up the device and go independently.

Amazing for best practice reflection, so much fun for social media content & best of all, something to bond and have fun with across the generations while the youngsters have fun at your expense..priceless!
