Having tried some of their products before, I was extremely excited to have another sampling experience from this gorgeous distillery.
Currently celebrating its 7th anniversary, the HOLY GRASS VODKA comes in a cute 41.5% Alc Vol. – 50ml bottle of vodka which is delicately fresh and, as it was not my first time sampling this vodka, I was super excited about this combination.
The Holy Grass Vodka is a creation of local produce and botanicals, being infused with a carefully made vapour of Highland apple juice, to complement the sweetness of the Holy Grass. The hero botanical Anthoxanthum nitens is a delicate, sweet-scented grass known by several common names such as Holy Grass, Bison Grass or Sweet Grass. I enjoyed my vodka with some lemonade and ice, it was deliciously refreshing, and I could taste the delicious apple sweetness with hints of honeyed chamomile and vanilla which are all rounded off in a smooth creamy finish.

The next sample I got to try was Bramble and Sweet Woodruff Liquid Garnish. This product comes in a 100ml bottle and was designed to complement and add another dimension to the previous item, the Holy Grass Vodka. The website advised to simply add simply add a few drops to your Holy Grass Vodka in place of, or to accompany, a traditional garnish! Not being one to experiment too much with alcohol, I was interested to experience the flavour of the two together. I couldn’t find much about how this product is made but my understanding is that it’s made from the sweet woodruff herb. The taste it added to the vodka was a mild addition, not quite medicinal but herbs in a drink generally make my think of medicine. My husband thought it added a lovely dimension to a standard drink so it may appeal to some folks but not all.
