From Lancashire To Tokyo: The British Independent Jewellery Brand Championing Slow Fashion Worldwide

Lancashire based jewellery designer Camilla Cottle founded The Silver Stable from her studio in the Spring of 2020. Less than one month later, the first wave of the pandemic hit. However, unlike many small businesses, The Silver Stable is managing to survive and grow, so what is their secret?

” I think it’s our quest to make beautiful jewellery that will stand the test of time and wear.” Explains Camilla,

“During the lockdown, Clients were practising self-care and looking for small comforts that would bring them infinite pleasure; wearing our jewellery does that. It brings joy to the wearer. We also found that customers were also buying jewellery for the loved ones that they were no longer able to visit to celebrate anniversaries or birthdays. We have personalisation options on many of our pieces, and these have been really popular with clients all over the world.”

The Silver Stable jewellery is all handcrafted in their small but productive studio in the North Of England from recycled quality solid gold and silver, which is something their UK and growing international clients based as far as Tokyo love.

“Every piece in our collection is made to order for our clients, so there really is no waste.” Camilla says.

The British company are also passionate about sustainability, and even their luxury gift packaging is FSC certified, meaning that they are protecting our forests for future generations.

“As a business woman and a mother of a young toddler, these are all critical considerations.” She says.

The Silver Stable Collection features many pieces which celebrate classic equestrian styling with a strong contemporary design ethos, making it popular with horse lovers and fashionistas alike.

” My determination to drive the slow fashion movement and encourage others to ‘Buy well, Buy once’ sits with my ethos that beautiful jewellery can be an ethical, sustainable luxury brand without having to compromise.”
