JoJo Maman Bebé Christmas Character Wooden Playset Review

Christmas joy arrived a few weeks early at my house, when Jojo Maman Bebe delivered their Christmas Character Playset for us to review.

Jojo’s is a brand I regular shop with due to the high quality products and fun patterns. My 3 year old asked straight away ‘is this for me mummy?’
The excitement on her face was magical when she opened the wrapping to see the box of Christmas characters. Her little hands couldn’t get in the box fast enough and unwrap each of the characters. Each character is individually wrapped to stop them clattering against each other and causing damage.

The set contains 14 wooden pieces. Each one is beautifully hand painted and decorated to a very high standard in bright and appealing colours. I couldn’t spot any imperfections in the paint work.
The set includes:
Santa Clause
Mrs Clause
Two elves
A Christmas tree
Nine reindeer

Each of the reindeer have little felt antlers, different colour collars and their initial painted on their belly. The reindeer are two different colours which looks good when they are set out together.

Each figure is approximately 7 cm tall. The figures are perfect size for small hands to grasp and move about easily. The suggested age is 3yrs. I felt that this was suitable due to the little felt ears on the reindeer.
The characters stand up well without issue on hard surfaces or carpet.

We have played with the characters a couple of times a day since receiving them a few days ago. The set is great for imaginative play. It is fascinating listening to what a 3yr old knows and their ideas.
I have used the characters for aiding in the learning of numbers, counting, colour recognition and letter recognition with each of the reindeer having its initial on the belly and coloured collar.

My daughter asked for a sleigh for the reindeer to pull Santa on. A sleigh isn’t included, so I improvised but this would be a great addition to the set.

The characters fit nicely back into the original which has a rope handle so that a small child can carry the box easily. The box of characters regularly comes with us on car journeys and she loves that she can carry it around.
The one thing I would change, is to have the box made of a stronger material. Our box came a bit bruised from the courier and it would be nice to be able to keep the characters in the original box permanently.

The set costs £15 which I feel is excellent value for 14 wooden beautifully painted characters. The set is high quality and will last a long time.
Overall, I score the set 5/5.

This set would make a lovely pre Christmas treat. We have have had a lot of enjoyment so far with the characters and are looking forward to much more over the Christmas periods.
