The No Mo-Stache is a ‘perfectly portable stainless-steel blade that sweeps up the shortest of hairs’. If you are a fan of dermaplaning but are not a fan of the associated price tag, then the ‘No Mo-Stache Facial Razor is a much more affordable alternative. The precision facial razor comes in a handy little pouch with useful directions and an illustration on the back. It also states the benefits of using the precision facial razor, stating it ‘features a foldable stainless-steel blade’, ‘cleans up the shortest of hairs’, has the ‘added benefits of dermaplaning’, ‘gentle exfoliation’, ‘removes dead skin cells’ and ‘touch ups for brow and face’.

The directions instruct you to hold the skin taut and to use short feathery strokes opposite of the hair growth, with the illustration illustrating this. There is also a razor care section that instructs you to clean the blade with rubbing alcohol after each use. The razor folds out ready for use and folds into itself when not in use to protect the razor.

Having never used a facial razor, I was very interested in testing and reviewing this product. I had seen dermaplaning advertised in a local beauty salon and was very tempted, as my skin looks terrible and thought it might help brighten up my skin by getting rid of old dead skin cells and the short downy hair that covers my face and those annoying stray chin hairs too, but I was not keen on the price.

I have seen good reviews on other versions of these products and the videos people have made and wondered if this product could produce as good a result as a qualified beautician. Surprisingly, I was very impressed with the results, although I am no expert on the matter. It took a little while to get used to holding my skin taut enough and making short feathery strokes opposite my hair growth with the razor in my other hand, but after a bit of practise I began to see results and I was amazed at what I was seeing. I watched as small clumps of fuzzy downy hair fell down my face, leaving my face smooth. Working the skin on my top lip was tricky, but the result was worth the frustration at times, it removed all of the hairs. At times, the razor did not seem to work as well, but once turned over to use the other side, it worked. The hairs on my chin all disappeared as well leaving the skin on my face very smooth. I found that upon applying face cream after using the razor, the cream worked into the skin quicker and easier and upon applying make-up, my makeup sat on my face better, leaving a better-looking result as it was not clinging to the facial hair. I also used the razor to trim and tidy the stray hairs in my eyebrows. This was a little trickier, but produced a really neat and well-groomed result, which I was very pleased with.

I was worried about how the hair would grow back and have discovered that cutting your facial hair will not make it grow back thicker or darker, this is just an old wives’ tale and I have not seen much regrowth yet. I will be interested to see how long the razor lasts before I need to buy a replacement, but for the price and the result, I would say it is worth it.

The razor is small and compact enough to carry around with you for those unexpected facial hair emergencies.

I would highly recommend this product.
