Sky Rider Air Square Review

Over the years we have bought many different types and shapes of frisbee and flying discs but never found one that lived up to expectations. They either didn’t travel very far, went in a random direction or just fell to the floor.

When we received the Sky Rider Air Square I was skeptical that it would live up to the claims and expectations. All other similar products we have previously bought were circular. How could a square fly so well I thought. I was super excited to take it out and start playing.  As a family we love playing games outside that include some form of competition.

The Air Square is made a hard inner plastic with a softer plastic edging. This is to protect your fingers when catching it. The Air Square is very light weight but feels sturdy. The air square is designed with weighted precision to allow it to smoothly glide through the air.

Off we went to the park with the Air Square. We found a lovely big space and began playing after a couple of practice throws each and showing the children age 3 & 6 how to throw it. They both picked up the skill very easily, which was pleasing. The technique is the same as if throwing a frisbee.

The Air Square was very easy to throw and glided through the air very fast. Too fast to catch and into the brook it landed! The children found this very amusing and even more so that Daddy had to retrieve it.

We needed to find a bigger space. Once in the bigger space the fun started. The Air Square quickly picks up speed very quickly and we were surprised at just how far it could travel. It looked great as the vibrant colours of it traveled through the air.

We played a game trying to catch the Air Square on our arm. This was very tricky and I was useless at it but the children caught it several times each.

On the first outing we played for an hour. It is great that it is suitable for children and adults to play with. With the added bonus of been outside and getting exercise.

In the last week we have played with in every day. And had a couple of people ask what we were playing as they had seen it gliding through the air so beautifully.

The Air Square is super lightweight so easy to carry and really does work. I was so surprised to see how fast and smooth it glides through the air and the distance it can travel.  We found that due to speed and distance it can travel that you need to throw it more gentler when playing with children.

The Sky Rider Air Square is produced by a company called Wicked with products manufactured in the U.K. Brilliant that such innovative products are been made her in the U.K.  Wicked also produces: boomerangs, yo-yo’s, mega bounce balls and many more.

The Air Square is a family must have. You won’t be disappointed! It has a RRP £10 which I think is excellent value for a produce that is well made, appealing, robust and manufactured in the U.K.
