The Bee Gees Story: Nights on Broadway at the Grove Theatre Review

Myself and my partner went to the Grove Theatre in Dunstable last night (17 February 2018) to see The Bee Gees Story: Nights on Broadway. It was the first time in a long while that I’ve seen The Grove so packed for a show. Not a seat to be had anywhere.

They open the show with ‘You should be dancing’ and within seconds the place was vibrating with a 1000 people tapping their toes. I’ve not been to a show for a while that the whole audience engage so quickly. The band hailed from Dublin, they bear a resemblance to the Bee Gees. They are most certainly the best fun Dunstable has seen for some time. Loved, loved, loved them. If you closed your eyes on certain songs you could imagine you were listening to the actual Bee Gees in the flesh.

The show has a screen running in the background giving you facts and original footage of the Bee Gees. It’s a nice touch. They hit you fast with so many hits I couldn’t stop smiling, all my personal favourites, Massachusetts, I started a Joke, Islands in the Stream, How Deep is your Love, To love Somebody, Words. They sure pack the songs in and promise to try and get as many in as possible.

Honestly, I didn’t stop singing, they had everyone, and I mean everyone, up dancing before the interval, my favourite sight of the night… a man who looked at least 80 giving it some in the dancing department. It was just a wonderful evening that really lifted my week, life is for dancing and enjoying and this band truly are fabulous. Don’t take my word for it book tickets, we most definitely will be seeing them again. Bee Geesus the band from Dublin did good.
