Logiclock Escape Room Review

Reviewed by Sandip Stapleton
We were lucky enough to review Logiclock in Nottingham, a real live escape room for 3 to 5 people, and went along having a vague idea that we had to work together to solve clues and ‘unlock’ ourselves out a room. Logiclock have 3 rooms, Pirates Adventure, Made in Stein and Cosa Nostro, we were given the Pirates Adventure room to have a go at.
The lady that was our ‘gamemaster’ sat us down in the reception area to explain the rules of the room and some things to look out for and what to do in cases of emergencies, we are locked in a room after all! She explained we had an hour to get out of the room and just to enjoy it. Which we did!
I don’t want to go too much into the tasks details as that would spoil it, except that it is a great pirate themed room which is a great looking set with clever tasks and we managed to get out with 29 seconds to spare and thoroughly enjoyed it!
We went as a family with our 2 kids who are nearly 6 & 3 years of age. Both kids enjoyed it but for different reasons. The youngest enjoyed exploring and playing with props and the eldest tried her hardest to join in and really got into the spirit of being in a timed situation, but ended up doing the searching and unlocking of locks once we had given her codes. Despite enjoying it they are too young to be fully involved in this sort of task based experienced and you probably need to be about 8 years or older with 2 to 3 adults (minimum age requirement is 9 years old if accompanied by an adult). The ending reveal is a nice touch when you finally do ‘escape’.
After we finished, the gamemaster came into the room and talked us through each task explaining what we did or how else we could have done it and commented on how our team work skills played out for each bit. It was really well explained.
We then went back to the reception area where we were each given a cold bottle of water which was a really nice touch when you had been rushing around for an hour.
Ultimately this is the sort of experience that a small group of mates or work colleagues, who like searching for clues, solving puzzles in a timed situation will love, we certainly did.
