We were lucky enough to visit Pesto in Sheffield on Saturday night. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly waitress who walked us round to eating area and introduced us to our waiter for the evening Justin. We were seated in a perfect setting with a cosy private feel to it, passed menus and asked what we would like to drink, while Justin went to get the drinks we looked at the menu.

If you have never visited Pesto you really need to, it is basically Italian Tapas. There are many options and all come on small plates as you would expect with tapas cuisine. We couldn't decide what to order – there is just so much choice of delicious sounding dishes so we asked Justin would he order for us, he was more than willing and asked was there anything we didn't like, we told him just Olives and waited with anticipation to see what feast we were having. We were not disappointed!

We had a selection of Italian breads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to share as a starter and then 6 dishes as a main, now 6 dishes might sound rather greedy but as I have already mentioned they are small portions and as we found out it was just the right  amount for the two of us. They included Pizzetta formaggio di capra a goats cheese pizza, Patate al origano fried potato sauteed with garlic and oregano and served with a dip of sun dried tomato tapenade, Spiedidni di pollo 2 chicken skewers, Farfalle al salmone affumicato e asparagi pasta with smoked salmon asparagus and cream and my favourite Gamberoni all aglio e peperoncino king prawns with white wine onion garlic and chili. Every dish was delicious and they all complimented one another, Justin had definitely made the perfect choice. We were comfortably full but decided we had room for a dessert anyway!! We opted for a chocolate cake and an ice cream dish, we shared and again we could not fault either both came very well presented and tasted scrummy.

The whole evening was very enjoyable. The service was superb and the atmosphere very relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt comfortable in our surroundings. We will be visiting again in the near future and would not hesitate recommending to others looking for a great night at a reasonable price.
