The Lowry theatre is extremely easy to get to and well signposted. It has easy access for car, bus or metro link visitors. There are plenty of nearby car parking spaces available for car drivers.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a gentleman on the ticket desk, who welcomed both myself and my friend and we were shown to the Lyric Theatre.

A circular auditorium with a brilliant view of the stage and performers, the seats where comfy but there was not much leg room! There are also disability facilities available.

The show started with impressionist Alistair McGowan and his uncanny portrayals of the likes of David Beckham and Sven Goran Eriksson. Before the legendary Jasper Carrott, a career that has spanned five decades first started in his hometown of Birmingham in the mid-’70s. There he discovered his talent for comedy, and his inability to sing… the rest, as they say, is history. Apart from his stand-up comedy and TV shows such as Carrott’s Commercial Breakdown, The Detective & presenter of Golden Balls. His silly humour still remains a massive hit for those of different ages. “You know that look a woman gives you when she’s sexually aroused? No, me neither!” being a particular tickler from the evening. But what I most enjoyed is nearing the end of the performance he included his guitar still engulfing the audience with continuous humorous jokes whilst strumming away.

Neither of us have laughed as much as we did in a long time. We could see both the comedians clearly and hear them perfectly.

Half way through the performance there was an interval which gave us the opportunity to stretch our legs, use the toilet and to buy any beverages or snacks, we could either eat/drink them in the bar area or in the theatre whilst watching the performance which made it feel very homely and cosy.

I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future shows. A very good, fun and enjoyable evening and would definitely recommended Jasper Carrott…
