Drumond Park Og on the Bog Review

My 9 year old son was so excited that we had been given this to review as he has seen it advertised on the TV. He had been nagging me to buy it since the first time he saw it, so couldn’t wait to get the box and play it.

As is usual with him he opened it up and straight away started putting it together without reading the instructions. The only bit he struggled with was putting the loo roll holder in the correct place, it is quite tight to squeeze it into place and he needed some help from me.

One thing I will say is this game is very well made and of good quality. Even the board with the spinner on it is good quality and very sturdy.

The aim of the game is to spin the wheel and press the step down on Og’s Bog. If he shouts you miss your turn and the next player goes. If he doesn’t shout you have to try and lift one of the loo rolls off the holder.

For the 1st couple of goes we had it was very exciting waiting to see if his bog exploded, however in the whole time we played it only exploded once and was not very dramatic. Also the sound effects of the ‘bog’ are not great and it is hard to hear what he is saying. There was only 2 of us playing and the game was over pretty quickly. Also Og shouted quite a lot which means we both missed quite a few turns.

My son grew bored of this game after less than 15 minutes of playing however we have had similar games which have lasted ages and I have had to play time and time again with him!

The game is for age 5 and upwards. If you had a group of 5 year olds they would probably love it as the concept of the game is brilliant.

I would have been really disappointed if I had bought this for him for Christmas and also paid full price for it.

Overall a great idea but the reality does not live up to it.
