Wise Women by Carole McKenzie Review

Reviewed by Meresa Bergin
Wise Women is a hilarious, ribald and revealing collection of observations and inspirational quotations reflecting the wit and intelligence of women across the ages. Those quoted range from Dorothy Parker to Joan Rivers, Mae West to Joan Collins, Queen Victoria to Princess Diana, Joanna Lumley to Pamela Stephenson, Beyoncé to Adele, and Cheryl Cole to Lady Gaga.
I was very interested in this book when I saw it was up for review, it arrived quickly and well packed.
I wasn’t sure how the book would be laid out, if it would be in story form or in quotes. I was pleased to see it was in quotes and sections such as love, happiness, money, wealth this made it easy to read certain parts that may interest you more.
With quotes ranging from Mother Theresa to Lady Gaga on a whole range of subjects, it made for interesting and varied read. Some of the women I knew and some I did not which then lead me to look them up to read about them.
The book seems to be more aimed towards women and it is very inspiring to women yet I feel it would appeal to different types of people, my husband read some of the quotes and found them to funny and interesting.
I would recommend this book to friends and have had a few already ask to read it.
