If You Were Me and Lived In… China by Carole P. Roman Review

If You Were Me and Lived in China, by Carol P. Roman, is one of a series of books aimed at introducing children to the different cultures of the world. It is illustrated by Kelsall Wierenga I have to say one of the best things about this book are the pictures. There is an illustration on each page which according to my daughter helps you imagine yourself there. We loved the fact that the Great Wall of China is a real picture.
This book is full of information about China, from the map at the beginning to the culture of China and a handy pronunciation guide at the back. This is great for helping children pronounce certain words which may be difficult. Each page is interesting to read and informative. My daughter was particularly fascinated with the idea of fried ice cream.
I find that this book would suit the younger child as well as the older child and I will definitely be buying more books in the series.
