TBC), is available on 14th November 2011 exclusively from www.networkdvd.co.uk, RRP £14.99 for the first time. This thrilling six-parter has never been seen in colour and has been transferred from original film materials specifically for this release. This release also boasts bespoke packaging in a replica CD case with a vinyl-look DVD disc.

The first of three shows to be shot on location on 16mm film for newly formed Thames Television, THE TYRANT KING was effectively an experiment to assess whether Thames should create a small-scale production unit within the company – a subsidiary that would eventually become the legendary Euston Films, responsible for a string of phenomenally successful dramas including The Sweeney.

Directed by Mike Hodges, written by Trevor Preston, and starring Philip Madoc, Murry Melvin and featuring young leads from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, THE TYRANT KING follows three teenagers as they cross London searching for an answer to a hidden secret. It's a quest fraught with drama and danger takes them to some of the capital's most iconic landmarks and beyond (a reflection of the drama's origin as an adventure story published by London Transport), not to mention the incredible soundtrack!
