Breakfast with Santa at The Coach House Manchester Review

Reviewed by Linzi Davies

We arrived at The Coach House at the intu Trafford Centre in Manchester with two excited little boys ready to enjoy their breakfast with the big man, Santa, himself. We were met by a staff member who took us to our host Mike, the party leader. Mike asked the boys their names and what they were getting for Christmas and Thomas chatted away like they were best friends!!!

First was face painting which Sam steadfastly refused and Thomas proudly displayed his Rudolph face complete with antlers a short time later. Next was musical bumps which was ran well by Mike and some fancy dancing by all the children there, my two not really the competitive type were out first. The kids all then played in the small play area which kept them amused whilst breakfast was prepared.

Adults eating sat just outside the play area and this is the only bit which needed to be slightly better organised. There was only one guy, James, taking orders but he was also dealing with the ordinary breakfasts which is served at the other end of the pub so we almost missed out!!

The boys loved their yummy breakfast, sausage, bacon, hash brown, beans and tomato sauce washed down with a drink of juice. Ten minutes and clean plates later it was the most exciting part still to come, all the children stood with the staff whilst yelling, “where are you Santa ?” at the very top of the voices, a loud Ho Ho Ho was soon heard and lots of smiling faces to be seen. Thomas managed to get to the front of the queue and sat next to Santa on his bench telling him the only present he wanted was a blue power ranger (glad I’d bought one), Sam then went up for a picture with Thomas and Santa before it was Sam’s turn to chat with Santa.

Each of the boys had a good four to five minutes with Santa and were not rushed by the staff which I thought was fab. A selection box was nicely wrapped and a poster and reindeer dust was also given.  All in all a very enjoyable experience and a particularly jolly and realistic Santa Claus. The boys told everybody for the rest of the day what a brilliant breakfast they had with Santa, so success in my book.
