I attended the above show on Saturday evening (31 May 2014) along with my husband and 13 year old son and 9 year old daughter. I really wasn’t sure what to expect so made sure we left in plenty of time to park the car and arrive promptly at the venue for when the doors opened at 7pm for 7.30 start. I had no idea how busy it would be but already there was quite a queue forming, so it would appear there were regulars who were keen to get their favourite seats. After a few minutes we were guided into the hall and noticed a lot of seats had already been taken so we quickly chose our seats which were close to the ring! The atmosphere was instantly buzzing and a real mix of guests ranging from as young as 3 upwards, young couples and families and some who went on their own. The commentator gave a countdown every 5 or so minutes until the opening of the first match.
There was lots of cheering, clapping, booing and shouting out. We had a really good time and didn’t expect it to be so much fun and will definitely go again and recommend for a fun night out.
Included in the entertainment was a Tag-Team Match, Championship Match, Women’s Championship, Battle Royale. All competitors had their own unique style, all shapes and sizes with some perfectly toned bodies others wearing masks/costumes including pink skin tight shorts which added to some of the entertainment. Without given too much away I would certainly consider going to one of these shows with or without the family, but I would guarantee any youngsters who like wrestling would not be disappointed. My favourite match was Picture Perfect starring Chris Tyler and Eric Phillips but all of the contenders were great.
There was an interval after about an hour and a good selection of drinks, snacks available in reception. We purchased some hot dogs at a very affordable price along with smoothies for the kids from the cafe. There was wrestling merchandise available consisting of t-shirts, posters, action figures, popcorn and raffle tickets. The raffle proved a popular feature and called raffle mania.
Saturday’s show was called Hostile Intentions! The line-up included regular stars of TAW and also featured top talent from EAW and NBWA.
Lots of laughter guaranteed.
As soon the show finished the contenders happily autographed posters and willingly didn’t hesitate having their photos taken with guests which was greatly appreciated.
A great family entertainment show not to be missed, the wrestling techniques performed were awesome and very clever and obvious all contenders had trained and rehearsed hard to bring lots of entertainment to the audience. Total Action Wresting is on the last Saturday of every month at Dunstable Leisure Centre and other shows locations (including Leighton Buzzard, Milton Keynes) are found on website further below.
