On probably one of the wettest Saturdays this year we made our way into London for our first ever visit to the Albert’s Schloss to sample not just the Oktoberfest menu but all things Oktoberfest, meaning for my other half all things beer!
There are Albert’s Schloss venues in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Soho in London. We used the tube and found the venue was closest to the Piccadilly Circus station. I had heard of the venues through work, but just wow from the moment we walked in, how had we not visited before!
Firstly the place was packed with people enjoying the entertainment, the amount of customers who fully bought into the Oktoberfest theme and were in their best lederhosen was astonishing. Clearly a lot of people enjoy and engage to the max with Oktoberfest. It’s been a long time since we walked into a venue with such a great vibe. Live music is the way to my heart and the artists (am sure there was a few whilst we were there) were simply outstanding.
There were six Oktoberfest Biers available, my partner chose Augustinerbrau, which he enjoyed so much he had another. The staff all seemed very attentive, our waitress deserves a mention. We do like to go out and often find once you have been served food, that staff don’t check in, don’t see if you need anything else, she was attentive in all the right ways, and not just to us, but of her tables, it was a pleasure to watch and she made the experience everything that it could and should be.
The menu has a good variety of choices (all things Bavarian) and my other half had his favourite German sausage, he throughly enjoyed the Bohemian Sausage Plate with a side of Caesar salad, and gave (for him) a high scoring ten out of ten! I enjoyed (sorry l let the side down) fish and chips with a side of slaw (the slaw was amazing), the fish was gorgeous. My pudding was an Espresso Martini (the best kind of desert) and himself had the Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream. It’s not just London these days that’s pricey to eat out and we thought all the prices were extremely reasonable, especially as the food was so enjoyable. Although the entertainment was going on whilst we were eating it didn’t overwhelm you, you could enjoy the tunes and still have a conversation.
Venues like this are my favourite, food and drink with cracking entertainment to enjoy during and afterwards. It will definitely be on our list next time we are in London, there was just a lovely feel in the whole place, there were families enjoying meals, along with couples and friends of all ages both enjoying food and the live music. What’s not to love.
And I can’t not mention the disco toilet (where there was most definitely the biggest queue!), google them, what a brilliant brilliant idea, I think I need one at home. Somewhere to visit with your friends for sure, it’s a magic idea, and much enjoyed by everyone. Albert’s Schloss is definitely on our list for next time we are out and about, we have family up north so maybe the Liverpool venue will be next on our list.
We had the most wunderbar time, thank you for having us, Oktoberfest has been extended to run until 29th November, put on your lederhosen and get yourself a table booked and go along and enjoy the fun, food, entertainment and bier, you won’t be disappointed.
