On arrival at the Mexican restaurant with my family the restaurant was ready to receive us! Our dining table set up with menus and activity packs and crayons to keep the little ones entertained. The waitress was very friendly and informative and her customer service skills were an asset to the company. She gave a very good impression spoke with the children with confidence and enthusiasm and it made me feel very comfortable to be dining out with the children. Us mums know only too well how stressful that can be!
Our drinks arrived quickly and some complimentary nachos with a cool salsa. The children loved them. Whilst they munched their way through the nachos I sat with a glass of wine and we discussed what they would like from the menu. Their drinks were in perfectly sized glasses for little hands and each one came with a straw. As it was a family treat they all had a glass of diet coke. My little ones haven’t got huge appetites and had demolished the nachos so it was only myself who ordered a starter. 2 of my children had chicken bites and chips with a choice of beans, peas or salad. My son had a cheeseburger with chips and my eldest daughter tried the children’s chilli burritos. She loved the wraps and being able to make them herself with all the salad, sour cream and salsa. My starter came with the children's main course so we could all eat together. I had the deep filled jackets with cheese, bacon and sour cream. It was delicious and I enjoyed it thoroughly!
For my mains I had something extra special! Louisiana Hot chicken fajitas!! The waitress brought it out on a sizzling hot platter with peppers and onions! It was so hot it was spitting on the sizzle. The chicken perfectly cooked and the hot and sticky marinade coating the chicken and vegetables! It looked gorgeous, tasted fantastic and was served with wraps, sour cream, salsa, guacamole and a bowl of crisp lettuce and cheese. The best fajitas I have ever had and the presentation of the food is superb!
The children were given balloons (and the staff replaced them every time my son popped his balloon or let the air out of his sisters! I didn't ask…the staff were very observant and interacted fabulously with the children!)
The children had ice-cream desserts and I had to try the golden nugget cheesecake! I was so impressed it was heaven on a plate!
The menu is extensive, a huge choice of food to suit all tastes, appetites and budgets! An absolutely fabulous place to eat with family or friends on any day or occasion and if stuck for ideas of places to go and things to do with the children this half term I definitely recommend Chiquito's! A very child friendly dining experience and the activity packs kept them amused at the table. We loved it!
