I got to try the INFANTINO My 1st Tumbler because I wanted to find a cup that would be easy for little hands to hold and help my child learn to drink more independently. I’ve been really pleased with it so far.
The size is just ideal. It holds 255 ml, so there’s enough for a good drink without the cup being too big or heavy – my granddaughter drinks a lot so this helps. The handles are really handy because children can hold the cup easily without needing help all the time. The straw is soft and seems comfortable to drink from too.
I really like the look of the cup. The Sunset Kiss colour is lovely and cheerful (there are a number of colours that you can choose from), and the cup feels strong without being heavy. It has already been dropped and knocked over a few times, as you would expect with a toddler, and it has held up really well.
One of my favourite things about it is that it does not seem to spill everywhere like some other children’s cups we’ve tried. It is not completely spill-proof. I have yet to find a cup that is completely spill-proof where a toddler is involved! But it absolutely helps keep spillages to a minimum. This makes it really handy for taking out in the car, putting in a changing bag or using around the house.
The straw is also a bonus. My granddaughter doesn’t have to tip the cup up to drink, which makes it much easier for them to use independently. It feels like a really good step between using a baby bottle or normal Sippy cup and eventually drinking from a regular cup.
It is also fairly easy to clean which makes me love this item even more. Other cups we have tried have eventually started growing mould in the extremely hard to reach places. There are a few different bits, especially around the straw, so you do need to take it apart properly to make sure everything is clean. Once you’ve worked out how it comes apart, though, it’s really not a problem. I’d rather spend an extra minute cleaning it than have old drink sitting inside the straw!
I also like the fact that it’s BPA-free, as it gives me an extra guarantee when using it every day.
Overall, I think this is a really good little cup for babies and toddlers who are learning to drink by themselves. It is light, easy to hold, looks nice and does an excellent job of reducing spills. It’s also small enough to take out and about without taking up loads of room in your bag.
For us, it has been a really helpful cup and has made drinking independently much easier. I would definitely recommend it to other parents looking for a first cup with handles and a straw.
