If, like me, you love and adore authentic cuisine, then you need to add these products to your kitchen pantry. Having travelled to Malaysia, these products are the closest I will get to the fantastic culinary dishes of that country. Each of the sauces feels and tastes as if it were homemade instead of just bought from a shop. It is evident that a lot of pride has been taken when putting the ingredients together to make each of these sauces, along with culture and tradition.
I love a curry night, so the day they arrived, I decided to do a girls’ night, and these sauces did not disappoint as each of them is so versatile in their uses. It was also great to learn that all three sauces are vegan friendly.
Malaysia Peanut Sauce ~ I made a chicken peanut satay dish for starters and it was really delicious and very moreish. Whilst prepping the starter, I tried it by dipping in some raw vegetables to see how it works as a dipping sauce, and YUM! As a dip, it is great for sharing; however, it is so tasty, you may just want to keep it for yourself (LOL).
From the moment I opened the jar, I was in heaven. I was met with a deep and rich aroma of nuttiness and warm spices. The sauce has an authentic thickness to it, whilst having a lovely smooth texture, which I experienced in Malaysia. Packed with peanuts which have been roasted and give a slight sweetness to the palate. The heat is not overpowering, which means you do not lose the taste of the flavours, and it is perfect on the palate. All of this, accompanied by the pleasant aroma and tastes of lemongrass, garlic and coconut sugar, makes this sauce sheer heaven. Company’s Website says heat rating 2. Ingredients ~ Shallots, Peanuts, Sunflower Oil, Gula Melaka ( Coconut sugar), Lemongrass, Garlic, Cooking tamarind,
Galangal, Salt, Chilli powder

Anchovy Sambal Sauce ~ I am always sceptical when it comes to anchovy; as soon as I hear that word, I automatically think of salt, salt and more salt, but there was no need to worry about that when it came to this sauce. It was divine and, as suggested on the jar, I made a Nasi Lemak and it was delicious. This is a Malaysian national dish and I just had to make it to keep within the theme of the sauce. As before with the peanut sauce, as soon as I opened the jar, I was met with an indulgent aroma of spices. Not overpowering with that salty fish smell I was dreading, just sheer delight, which took me back to Malaysia. The texture was equal to that of the peanut sauce. To fully experience the flavour of this sauce, you really do need to buy it, as it is a taste explosion in your mouth and on your palate, again, not overly hot either. It is so good that my mouth was watering as I typed this review. This sauce works exceptionally well with rice and noodles. I cooked Basmati rice and had homemade noodles which my friend made. Pasta, rice and noodles work really well with any sauce, but this sauce is by far the best of all the sauces I have bought from any shop. Company’s Website says heat rating 2. Ingredients ~ Onion, Anchovy, Tamarind, Garlic, Chilli, Dried Chilli, Salt, Galangal, Ginger, Belacan (fermented shrimp paste)

Satay Marinade ~ I love a marinade and this did not disappoint. I used this to marinate beef and added some of the peanut sauce too, as this is what was recommended on the jar. WOW! I would never have thought to combine the two together and was a little apprehensive if it would work; it did, and I loved the combination of both, and the taste was amazing. As before with the peanut sauce, as soon as I opened the jar, I was met with an indulgent aroma of spices. This was helped by the fact that it has lemongrass and fennel powder in it, two of my many favourite ingredients when it comes to traditional cuisine. The texture is equal to that of the peanut sauce and anchovy sambal. Again, to fully experience the flavour of this sauce, especially with the peanut sauce, you really do need to buy it; yet again, another taste explosion in your mouth and on your palate. Company’s Website says heat rating 0. Ingredients ~ Shallots, Gula Melaka (Coconut sugar), Lemongrass, Sunflower Oil, Ginger, Garlic, Cooking Tamarind, Ground Cumin, Ground Coriander, Fennel Powder (Soonf), Salt, Turmeric.

As stated on all three jars: “Made on a site that handles all major allergens; therefore, may contain traces”.
Each jar is 300g and caters for 20 servings based on 15g per serving.
All three sauces are vegan friendly. Once the jars are opened, it is advised to use them within one month.
The jars have a barcode that is supposed to take you to recipes for that particular product however, I could not see them. They had recipes based on other products but not for each of these.
Rating: 5/5
These are a must-have for anyone who loves traditional and authentic cuisine. All three products are packed with flavours that will get your tastebuds wanting more.
