The cold nights are definitely on their way, and I love nothing more than a warm fire, cup of tea and a snuggly blanket. Voila the Bedsure printed blanket hoodie, in the strawberry design.
It arrived vacuum packed in the Bedsure branded box, which just makes it look that bit better when gifting it to someone special.
First impressions, the design is really cute and fun and looks even better when worn. It is manufactured using shaggy sherpa fabric instead of cotton, making it comparably softer and lighter in weight yet significantly warmer. It really is super soft and fluffy, and very warm.
The hood is huge, and I mean this in a positive snuggly way when sat on the sofa, although I wouldn’t be able to wear it up whilst walking around as it does flop over my face a little. There are two deep pockets at the front, perfect for my endless supplies of tissues, snacks and hand-cream (or to keep those hands warm), and the whole thing is wonderfully oversized without being too long that it becomes a trip hazard. I am 5 foot 6 and it comes down to just below my knee, so this will still fit a much taller person really well without being too short. My teen daughter is a few inches shorter and is completely in love with it (I suspect it is now “hers”), and the length wasn’t an issue for her at all.
The arms have slightly fitted ribbed soft cuffs which aren’t tight, but allow you to dip into those snack bowls without covering the sleeves in crumbs, and more importantly they keep the warmth in.
Bedsure is a well-established company with over 45 years expertise operating world-wide, specialising in season-ready breathable bedding. According to the website, the hoodie is manufactured using safer chemicals for both human health and the environment. Apparently, the neater stitching enhances durability and the dying process prevents fading. It does feel well made, even down to the cuffs, and due to its oversized fitting it will cover a range of body shapes and sizes. The £25.99 price-point is a real bargain for a hooded blanket, especially given that it is so warm and toasty.
There isn’t the fleecy lining which you get with the big brands so it isn’t quite as thick and warm with just the one layer and nor does it feel of quite the same “finish”, but then again you don’t have the extortionate price tag either or the heavy weight to contend with. The texture of the fabric does make me question whether it may be prone to wearing away, but only time will tell as it did wash nicely on a gentle cycle without shedding or shrinkage.
This is such a fantastic Christmas gift idea at the ideal price point. I have a few teenage girls in the family who are impossible to buy for and I know they’d love this, although it would still suit a forty something like myself as well; who doesn’t love a fruity design?! Several design options are available may I add, and it does come in size XL as well as the large/oversized one gifted to myself.
This is proper comfort-wear allowing you to move around whilst staying cosy-warm wrapped in a fluffy cloud of softness. Perfect for cosy nights and lazy days or even having a cup of tea in the garden or on that camping holiday. It is a versatile gift idea at a good price.
I would award this hooded blanket 5 stars out of 5, for warmth, a gorgeous design and a very competitive price point.
