There are blasters and there is the Gel Blaster Surge and boy did we have fun with this. It was hard to decide who had more fun, our 15 year old grandson or us grandparents LOL!
The Gel Blaster Surge is very strong and robust with a water-based ammunition. With a modern, stylish and futuristic look and sleek design, it is well and truly up there with the teenagers of today. It is eco-friendly, mess-free, with hours of action-packed fun.
What is very reassuring is how sturdy it feels in the hands. It gives you confidence knowing that it has been designed and built to withstand the most energetic players who will put it through its paces.
Primarily made of plastic, it is still robust enough should it be dropped, banged or knocked during high energy and fun games.
Using small gel pellets, otherwise known as ‘Gellets’, in semi-automatic mode, you can pull the trigger to fire a single Gellett, or change it to fully automatic where it releases a rapid stream of shots. We preferred this setting as it was great for those of us who enjoy the buzz of high-energy shooting and gives a fantastic adrenaline rush.
The speed, level of accuracy and range is phenomenal, by far one of the best we have ever had.
Something else that makes this even more practical to have is the rechargeable battery. What is reassuring is that the charging port is very well protected too. No need for replacing dead batteries. The rechargeable battery gave around 4 hours of non-stop play, giving hours of fun and excitement.
You will be pleased to learn that there is a safety switch, this stops any accidental shooting and gives you peace of mind knowing that it will not go off accidentally.
This would make a great gift, whether it is for birthday or just because, it will be a real ‘blast’ and with Christmas just round the corner, get buying before it sells out.
For extra safety, we wore safety goggles.
The pellets are small beads which will need to be soaked before use, it takes approximately two hours to soak them. Once fully soaked, they then expand, making them soft and safe to use. Gone are the days of hard pellets where they really hurt and bruise, these are much kinder, just a tiny sting and nothing more.
The great thing about these pellets when blasted, is that upon impact, they just evaporate no residue, stickiness or staining.
