Immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas at Blenheim Palace!
Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire never does anything by halves and is a fabulous place to visit at any time of the year. Undoubtedly, Blenheim’s biggest praise must go to its amazing Christmas experience event which packs a festive punch like no other!
With over 300 years of history and sitting in 2000 acres of beautiful grounds, Blenheim Palace is renowned for being the home to the Dukes of Marlborough and Sir Winston Churchill. It is certainly the perfect setting for picture-perfect festive joy.
Year on year, Blenheim Palace at Christmas time just gets better and better. This year, Blenheim has even more spectacular attractions to offer, a traditional Christmas Market, a swashbuckling journey through a Neverland adventure inside the Palace, a spectacular after-dark illuminated Lights trail and for the very first time, The Great Skate.
With the fine background of the Palace’s façade aglow with a beautiful light display, the Christmas Market in the courtyard was a great start to our visit. The traditional stalls added to the atmosphere and there was a very wide range of independent sellers with a little something for everyone.
We continued our experience with a trip to Neverland in the Palace, following Tinkerbell through the Palace State rooms as we were transported to a moonlit London skyline and onwards in a magical journey. Moving through the series of rooms, the story of Peter Pan unfolded with real magic in the air – it was delightful to watch the surprised faces of both young and old as they wandered through the delightful rooms! Tickets for the Neverland in the Palace experience can be purchased individually, with available times from 10am onwards or combined with the Illuminated Trail.
And so, onto Blenheim’s Illuminated Light trail, an incredible multi-sensory experience which well deserves its accolades as one of the UK’s top Christmas light experiences. It is absolutely essential to take your time and savour every moment. The trail is very simple to navigate and suitable for buggies and those with limited mobility. The experience is full of joy, with beautiful, lit up pathways, stunning light tunnels and laser shows showcasing the different themes and all with synchronised Christmassy music.
Amidst the glowing trees, there is also the opportunity to have a welcome stop, grab some festive refreshments and enjoy what for us, was a particular highlight, an incredible world-class musical water fountain and laser light show. Without spoiling any surprises, little ones may also catch a glimpse of a special visitor on their journey round!
New for Blenheim Palace this year is The Great Skate. Although we didn’t partake ourselves, the covered ice rink in the Palace’s Great Court looked spectacular and great fun for all the family!
With tickets for the main Christmas attractions including 12 months entry to Blenheim Palace, the experience offers many more hours of lovely distraction for the rest of the year – what’s not to love!
Christmas at Blenheim Palace is a magical and unforgettable immersive experience and we absolutely loved every minute!
