You cannot beat a toy that is built to sustain heavy play and being thrown around, and this is one of them.

This crane is sturdy, withstands many hours of energetic play, and stands out a mile in comparison to so many other toy cranes I have seen over the years. It captures any child’s imagination and, with its durability and realistic design, they are sure to have hours of fun and interactive play, whilst withstanding the rough and tumble of everyday play.

Being made mainly from heavy-duty steel, with very good quality plastic parts, it is still very robust, unlike cheap and nasty plastic ones that last five minutes. Coated in an amazingly bright yellow colour, it is eye-catching and, surprisingly, is very robust against chips, scratches and dents.

The crane has an extendable arm that can be rotated, lowered and raised – a great way to give countless hours of flexibility for imaginative play. It has a hook and winch mechanism attached which is simple but very effective. It has been made to make it easy for children to lift and move objects with ease. It really is one of those toys that will give a child that extra buzz when it comes to construction play.

The design and size of 16 inches has been well thought out. Large enough to look and feel really impressive without it being too big, bulky or difficult to store or carry. Designed for little hands, it is easy for them to hold and move it around due to its free-rolling wheels. These make it glide over the toughest of surfaces, from carpet indoors and wooden floors to outside on grass and pavements.

Hats off to the designers and creators of this crane, as safety is clearly a consideration in its design.
The moving parts operate exceptionally well and very smoothly. There are no sharp edges and the winch cord is very sturdy but not too long, so it does not pose a danger or become hazardous. You are assured that the safety-focused design, combined with realism, will ensure a child can enjoy endless hours of play without any risks.

I love any toy that incorporates a child’s development and this one certainly fits that criterion. It is great for cognitive learning and development such as eye and hand co-ordination. With your help, it encourages creative and cooperative play – just get them to pretend they are a builder, site manager, construction worker and, best of all, a crane operator. You can help them invent situations and scenarios that would happen in real life and get them to play them out. This will encourage problem-solving skills, teamwork and get them to think of solution ideas, and so much more. Add this toy to any other construction toys a child may have and they will have a construction site in no time – fully functional, operational and creating immense gameplay.

Yes, it is more than your average, cheap crane but… it is worth every penny as an investment. As I say, ‘cheap is not always best and it is false economy’. It may cost more but the longevity of its steel frame and the fun it brings really does justify the price. Whether it is played with by siblings or other family members, or passed down, you will get your money’s worth.

This makes for a great gift, whether it is for a birthday or simply just because. It will also make a great addition in schools. It is suitable for children 3 years and upwards.

No two children are the same, so bear in mind that whilst one child can manoeuvre the winch easily, another may not. My grandson is four and managed it with ease, whereas another four-year-old needed some help. My grandson helped him, which is great – it encourages teamwork and play, supporting and helping others.
