A fun and current Scottish/Glaswegian take on the classic fairytale for all ages with just the right amount of silly for the kids but with hilarious one lines and current jokes from television to politics for the adults.

There was a huge amount of audience participation throughout as any good panto should have. Throughout there was current music performed well by the cast. The cast that got people dancing and singing along with some older numbers mixed in for the parents and grandparents.

Des Clarke was excellent and incredibly enthusiastic as always as Buttons. The perhaps uglier than usual Ugly Sisters double act was superb. Their outfits alone deserve a hearty chuckle! The whole cast were fabulous and looked like they were having fun themselves. The children in the chorus line were equally fantastic really giving the family festive feel to the whole production.

The stage was striking and very fairytale like all glitter and sparkles. The outfits also beautifully fairytale to downright outrageously ugly. Even the programme was of great quality with puzzles etc. for children to take home.

The King’s Theatre is a modern extremely spacious theatre with a choice of bars on each floor and helpful, friendly staff. It is a very nice space to have drinks pre, during and post show. The theatre is located in the city centre which means it is easily accessible by public transport and is surrounded by on street parking as well as an array or bars and restaurants for pre and post show drinks and food.

I had a great evening shouting, laughing, singing and danced from beginning to end. I would absolutely recommend to friends and family of all ages. It certainly got me in the Christmas spirit. I would rate this show a very funny 5 out of 5.
