Banana Republic Black Eau De Parfum 75ml Review

Before receiving my wonderful bundle of products in the post, I was not aware that Banana Republic even branched into the fragrance market, and I have to say I was sceptical.
The fragrance packaging is minimalistic, a black box with a small ribbon to gently pull out a draw that contains an equally minimalistic designed bottle. The bottle mirrors the branding on the bottle. In my opinion the marketing team that worked on branding must believe in the scent enough to keep the packaging so plain. No gimmicks, the scent sells itself.
It is a gentle scent with floral notes, I am not skilled in detecting individual notes but the information available denotes that Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Oakmoss are the heart notes building on the base of Amber, Patchouli and leather that are all topped with pink lemon, cactus pear and lemon.
It is important to state that the perfume does not contain the following ingredients: talc, mineral oil, artificial colours, parabens, phthalates or sulphates.
Down to the nitty gritty of the review, the perfume has a very subtle and pleasant smell, the likelihood of giving people “too much perfume a headache” if you wear it is very slim. It is sophisticated and simplistic and is so fantastically transferable from day to night. I hope that I am not the only person that has different perfumes for different times of day, or a going “out, out” fragrance but this perfume could quite easily slip into any time of the day. Dare I mention the C word in September but Banana Republic Black Platinum would make a fantastic Christmas gift and with offers on at the moment it is an ideal steal to hide away for the ladies in your life. Mothers, daughters, wives and girlfriends of all ages should appreciate the fresh notes and classic design of this gift.
As with most scents for best results a light spray to pulse points is the recommended application. When I tried it as well as applying to pulse points, I walked through the scent too by spraying a few light pumps into the air. This allowed a light coverage to my clothes too. I am heavy on my perfume usage, subtle application and me do not compute therefore the light tones of this eau de parfume work well. The Mr didn’t complain of me stinking the room out.
