SEA LIFE Centre
VIP Launch of SpongeBob Squarepants
Reviewed by Jamie Hopkins (aged 7)
Hello! I’m Jamie and I’m 7 and a half and there are two things that I love, the SEA LIFE Centre and SpongeBob. Last week I took my Grandma and Granddad to the SEA LIFE Centre in Birmingham for the launch of the new SpongeBob Squarepants film and we had a brilliant time. Even Granddad!
Mum told me we were VIP’s so when we got there, there was a SpongeBob yellow carpet laid out for us all to walk up; at the end we had our photos taken for the paparazzi which was very exciting, Grandma loved that! Then everyone there was split into groups and we all went off on a tour around the SEA LIFE Centre with our own tour guide, ours was called Ross who was ace; he let us touch lots of creatures! There were crabs, sea urchins, star fish, all sorts there. Did you know that if a star fish loses one of its legs, it grows back? Wow!
We met Leila the spotted shark, Kiwi, Apricot and Mango the Otters, and Bruce the huge lobster! Bruce was actually for sale in the Birmingham fish market but because he was so big (he really is a whopper) they donated him to the SEA LIFE Centre who have looked after him ever since (lucky Lobster eh?).
We were then treated to a very special screening on SpongeBob in 4D, which means that as well as watching in 3D with the glasses, our chairs rattled, smells came wafting through and we even got wet! “It’s nothing like Corrie!” I said to Granddad.
We then went on to see the jellyfish, then walked through the glass tunnel where sharks and massive turtles swam above us! Ross told us stories about them all. Finally we walked to the gift shop and exit through the long mirrored walkway that was really confusing but lots of fun and Grandma got lost, but its ok, I found her again. I can’t wait to go back!
