For months, maybe even longer, I have had to put up with my son constantly doing the floss. He is obsessed and does it most of the day.

The floss is a huge dance craze/move that originated from the popular video game Fortnite. Although, I would say my son is way too young to play Fortnite, being only 6, he’s picked up the dance move from watching YouTube videos of people doing the move and seeing his peers at school do the dance.

When I found out about Pets Alive Fifi the Flossing Sloth, I was so impressed. It’s with the times, using a current, popular dance craze and it’s a great new addition to the ever expanding Pets Alive family, most of which we own.

I was offered to review Fifi the Sloth for my son to try out and when I told him, he was super excited. He had seen the adverts on the TV and had been asking for this toy for his birthday.

When the Sloth toy arrived, we found it was well packaged and really easy to use. We didn’t really look at the instructions as most Pets Alice toys are easy to use and usually have a try me option which is accessible through a gap in the packaging. With the front packaging showing how to use it. My son had opened the box and had Fifi out of the packaging before I could even blink. We changed the switch under the Velcro opening on the back of its head from try me to on and pressed its nose to start it. We were bowled over at how cool this toy was and how it moved in perfect form to the floss movement. The feet stay perfectly still to the ground, while the arms move side to side, bum wiggles and eyes blink. It looks great.

There are three different dance type tunes that it dances to which kind of remind me a bit of dubstep type music (I maybe wrong though, I’m not that “with it”). They’re really catchy and we found ourselves humming and dancing along to them.

Fifi is a really nice shade of purple which I would say is unisex and appealing for children age 3 to 10. My daughters is 10 and she enjoyed playing with the toy, although I found my 6 year old son preferred to play with it.

My son’s favourite thing to do with Fifi was to put it face down and watch its bum wiggle in the air. He had hours and hours of laughing doing this. This just shows his silliness.

He had a friend round for the first time since the lockdown and he got great enjoyment out of showing off his new toy and dancing along doing the floss with Fifi.
