NYnLON, the latest addition to the vibrant culinary scene in London, situated within the Hyatt Regency at Blackfriars, exudes a harmonious blend of New York and London gastronomic influences. Having attended the lively launch party, I found NYnLON to be a delightful escape.

The bistro proudly defines itself as a ‘neighbourhood style bistro,’ and from my experience, it lives up to this claim with flair.  The atmosphere at the launch party was electric, with a bustling crowd adding to the excitement and some fabulous entertainment including a saxophonist and Vegas-style dancers.

Upon entering NYnLON, the modern take on art deco decor immediately catches the eye.  The deep greens, white marble, and brass details create an ambiance that is both relaxed and luxurious.  The combination of these elements sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience, whether you’re in the mood for a casual brunch or an intimate dinner.

The bar at NYnLON is a focal point, offering an extensive selection of drinks that cater to a diverse range of preferences.  As noted on their website, ‘from American wines to premium champagnes, craft beers, and a captivating array of American-influenced bourbon mixology’, the bar is well-stocked to satisfy even the most discerning drink connoisseurs. The sophisticated yet approachable vibe extends to the bar area, making it an ideal spot for pre-dinner drinks or a relaxed evening with friends.

One of the standout features of NYnLON is its commitment to providing an accessible all-day dining experience.  The menu boasts an impressive array of seafood, featuring delicacies such as sea-fresh oysters, melt-in the-mouth crab tarts, bourbon-cured salmon, and sea bass ceviche – all of which I had the chance to try at the launch.  Each offering is a testament to the bistro’s dedication to using high-quality ingredients to create memorable dishes.

Not only that, I also had the chance to try some canape-sized versions of the mains at NYnLON, each of which were a gastronomic journey in themselves, showcasing a diverse range of flavours and textures.  From salt cod croquettes with a sweet pepper relish to sticky honey-glazed BBQ wings and juicy mini buttermilk chicken burgers with slaw, each bite was a culinary adventure.  The grilled aubergine and burella skewers were super light, as was the roast squash and farro salad, however my favourites had to be the braised short rib buns (unbelievably tender!), the steak tartare (with a little kick), and opulent steak sandwiches.  Yum!

The dessert canapes to finish were the perfect sweet ending to a sumptuous meal.  The lemon meringue tart provided a refreshing citrusy note, while the rich chocolate delice offered a decadent finish.  The attention to detail in each dish, from presentation to taste, underscores the bistro’s dedication to providing a well-rounded dining experience.

Strategically located at the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars, NYnLON is super central, close to tube stations and bus stops galore, making it easily accessible for both hotel guests and locals.  Positioned right at the front door, finding the bistro is a breeze too!

Overall, NYnLON is a culinary gem that successfully captures the essence of two iconic cities in its menu and ambiance. The bistro’s commitment to quality and innovation makes it a noteworthy addition to London’s dining scene.  Whether you’re a visitor staying at the Hyatt or a local resident exploring new culinary horizons, NYnLON offers a memorable and satisfying experience for all.
