Haacht is a 120-year-old independent, Belgian family-run brewery now in its 4th generation. They are located just outside of Brussels and pride themselves on their quality, craftsmanship and appeal to the Belgian culture.

Luckily we can now buy Haacht beer in the UK very easily from Amazon, which means it also arrives super quickly with next-day delivery. Just the thing for any last-minute Christmas get togethers or New Year parties.

In the box, which was securely packed within an Amazon box to avoid any breakages you receive a really good selection to try. The box contains 8 bottles of Haacht Brewery beer. This consists of Super 8 beer – 2 IPA, 2 Flandrien, 2 Blanche and 2 Export. The Haacht brand was new to me although as fans of beer and trying new beers at festivals, we were keen to try it out. Each beer came in a brown glass bottle with a distinctive coloured label and bottle top to match to distinguish it which looks sophisticated yet functional.

First of all I tried the Super 8 IPA (Indian Pale Ale) which was citrusy and hoppy. At 6% APV t is quite strong but it doesn’t taste too overpowering and was delicious with curry.

Next up was the Super 8 Flaudrien 6.4% ABV. This is a blond beer flavoured with hops, coriander, oak and vanilla. This was very easy to drink and went down well.

Also in the box is the Super 8 Blanche 5.1% ABV, This is a refreshing and creamy white beer. It has a spicy kick to it which is due to the coriander and orange zest in it. Yum yum!

Finally is the Super 8 Export 4.8% ABV – Super 8 Export which is the founding father of the Super 8 range. This is another very drinkable beer which you could easily quaff without realising! We decided this would be a solid beer for a session. No bitter aftertaste and went down very easily!

Each beer had a very different and unique taste which was refreshing. You receive two of each beer in the box and with beer this quality I can guarantee that it won’t be enough. We enjoyed every one of them and they were a lovely treat to enjoy with friends. All of the beers had their own subtle flavour and were extremely tasty.

I can also vouch that these beers go very well with chocolate – two key ingredients of the Belgian food emporium! Perfect to impress friends and family.

Priced at around £3 per bottle I think this is a very reasonable price for such a high quality beer with a good pedigree and reputation. As there are no chemical used the hangover the next day is non existent which is also a reflection of the quality ingredients and brewing processed used.
