Krazy Playdays Reading Review

I arrived at Krazy Playdays in Reading just after opening time at 10am with a very excitable 5 year old daughter in tow. I have to admit to some trepidation as soft play venues are not my most favourite place to spend time at on what turned out to be a very sunny morning!

There was a small queue in front of us when we arrived but it moved swiftly and the staff on the desk were very friendly and helpful. Unlike other venues I have been to the large seating area for adults was carpeted which gave the whole space a much warmer and more welcoming feel. My daughter could barely stop to take her shoes off before she was off to explore and after getting a much needed coffee from the very nice looking café area I sat down to enjoy some peace.

The soft play itself was classed as ‘amazing’ by the person it was aimed at. The large bumpy slide was a particular favourite but there was plenty to do to occupy all ages. It took my daughter some time to figure out how to get to one particular area which was the only grumpiness we encountered during our entire visit. With a little perseverance she managed to achieve her objective and I was pleased that there was something that had engaged her on a more than physical level.

All the staff we encountered were well dressed and polite and could not do enough for you. The tables were all clean when we arrived and there was a staff member who regularly checked for rubbish and other finished items on tables. There is also a small sofa area nearer the play equipment for parents who want to supervise their children more closely or who fancy a slightly comfier seat! The toilets were well signed, even for non-readers, and they were clean and pleasant to use. There was also a separate baby changing and disabled facility.

There was a large range of food and drinks available to buy all at reasonable prices. Food ranged from sausage rolls to jacket potatoes to chicken nuggets and chips or sandwiches. There were children and adult portions available of most dishes. All food is cooked from scratch so you are asked to allow 20 minutes for food to arrive which seems reasonable to me and it smelt divine. There was a good variety of healthy snacks and fruit available too so you are able to choose as you wish. They also make an excellent latte!

As a grown-up hoping for a quiet few minutes the free Wi-Fi on offer was a great benefit and unlike many places there was no silly registration or login process which was lovely.

I hadn’t visited Krazy Playdays in Reading before but I shall most definitely be going back – it is without the best soft play venue that my daughter and I have visited in a long time and we both heartily recommend it.

Rating: 5/5 thumbs_up
