I was very lucky to be asked to review the Environ Healthy Skin Gift Set, by the skincare company Environ. Despite being into my skincare and priding myself on having a good skin care regime, I hadn’t heard of the brand before and have never seen it advertised or seen it the high street drugstores shelves. Intrigued, I went off to Google and was quite impressed with what I found. Environ® is a professional scientific skincare brand that has a large portfolio of products targeted at different age ranges and all with science-based knowledge in their formulations.

The kit that I received was the Healthy Skin Gift Set. The kit was a nicely presented kit in a sturdy strong box that give you a feeling of luxury. This kit contained 4 full size products and a further 3 extra products. The products in the kit are :

Skin EssentiA Cleansing Lotion
Skin EssentiA Moisturising Toner
Skin EssentiA AVST Moisturiser 1
Youth EssentiA Vita-Peptide Eye Gel
Focus Care Youth+ Revival Mask
Even More Suncare + RAD Antioxidant Sun Cream
Focus Care Youth+ Tri-peptide Complex, Avance Moisturiser.

The routine I used was to use my own balm cleanser to remove my make-up and SPF of an evening, and then use the full routine in the kit (minus the mask which can be use 2-3 times a week). I cleansed my skin using the Skin EssentiA Cleansing Lotion followed by the Moisturising Toner from the same range. I then added a small light layer of the Vita-Peptide Eye Gel around the orbital bone. Knowing that peptides are a great addition to a retinol routine, I then use the Tri-peptide Complex, Avance Moisturiser, followed by the AVST Moisturiser 1.  I did the same routine in the morning with the exception of the AVST Moisturiser 1, followed by the RAD Antioxidant Sun Cream.  The reason I didn’t use the AVST Moisturiser 1 is due to the formula containing Vitamin A which can leave your skin sensitive to the sun, which is why the kit contains an SPF.

The really interesting thing about this brand is their use of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is known to help skin looks it’s best, prevent spots and pimples and for it’s anti-ageing properties. Environ have something called a Step-Up System that is pretty unique and very impressive. The company have a range of products depending on your skin age but being 40, the Essential Skin Care is the one that is targeted for my age range. The kits I received had AVST Moisturiser 1 which contains their lowest level of Vitamin A. Once your skin is used to that level, the company recommend at least 12 weeks on one level, you can ‘step-up’ to AVST Moisturiser 2 and gradually work your way up to AVST Moisturiser 5. It really is a very clever system and perfect for anyone starting on their retinol journey but doesn’t know where to start. This step-up system will guide you on your way without rushing in and upsetting your face.

Admittedly, I haven’t used the Revival Mask but I have religiously used all the other items every day for just over a week. Not once have I felt dryness in my skin when I wake up or after cleansing my skin, nor is there any tightness to my skin throughout the day which shows how moisturising and balanced the range is. I suffer from adult acne and this range did not disrupt my skin barrier nor cause any breakouts to my skin. The kit itself is a pricey out lay but once you have it, with the exception of me using a cleansing balm to pre-cleanse my skin, you don’t need to buy anything else as you will have a whole skin care routine in one go. This would make a really good Christmas, Birthday Mother/Father’s Day present for anyone who is into skin care or who is looking to create a full routine but doesn’t know where to start.
