ASK Italian Lewes Review

Reviewed by Jane Parton

ASK Italian in Lewes is situated in the High Street and is easy to get to by car, public transport or on foot.

My partner and I decided to visit on a Thursday evening, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated straight away. The waitress gave us our menus and took our drinks order we both had Coca Cola as I am pregnant my partner was driving but they did have a very good wine list.

We decided to start with Garlic Bread (£3.95) which was brought to us very quickly and was plenty for us to share.

For main we both chose Lasagne (£9.95) one of my favourite Italian foods. This came out very quickly and I must say it was definitely the best Lasagne I have ever tasted.  It wasn’t too rich or too cheesy.  It was served with a generous portion of side salad. And we also ordered a portion on Rustic Chips (£3.15) these were divine.

For dessert my partner had Honeycomb Cheesecake (£5.25) and I decided on Profiteroles (£5.65). The Profiteroles were filled with Italian ice cream and covered in hot chocolate sauce they were delicious and I could of quite easily have had another portion. They tasted very similar to Ferrero Rocher. I also had a quick taste of the cheesecake which was also very tasty.

The restaurant itself is over 2 floors and is very clean with very friendly helpful staff.  It has excellent facilities e.g. baby changing room. And complete disabled access.

Our overall experience was fantastic and very reasonably priced. For 3 courses and drinks it cost £44.65 which for a restaurant in Lewes is a very good price.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to others and would definitely visit again.

Top marks for this restaurant.
