Bloomsbury Mill Jungle Cubs Organic Muslin Swaddles Review

As a mum I am always on the lookout for baby items for us and for friends. I hadn’t come across Bloomsbury Mill before so was keen to try one of its items. Bloomsbury Mill was set up to try and ensure families get ‘good quality and design’ without the high cost, something most families are keen to find the right balance on!

I was sent the jungle cubs muslin swaddle three pack. The item arrived in simple packaging and comes with a white gifting ribbon with the brands logo. Plastic packaging was used around the muslin set which seemed a little unnecessary although the brands website does encourage recycling. One cute addition which I liked was a card of top tips for hospital bag essentials, the number on the card corner suggested that there are a range of these to collect so you should get a different tip with further orders.

The three muslins themselves are colourful and child friendly without being tacky. All three are white, with different animal designs. One has grey elephants all over and another yellow and orange giraffes. The third has a mixture of the same elephants and giraffes but also has lions, tigers and flamingo characters. Simple but bright colouring stands out well against the classic background. This swaddle set also comes in grey, blue or pink and white shape designs. Made from 100% pure organic cotton and certified by GOTS (Global organic textile standard) the muslins are beautifully soft so great for delicate baby skin and are advertised as safe to use from birth. With each measuring 120cm by 120cm they are large for muslins and therefore advertised for swaddling and would seemingly be perfect for this or as additional blankets, a play mat, for feeding or changing. The brands website has a guide for safe swaddling, which is perfect for new parents. For those wanting more traditional size square muslins, a pack of 6 is available for a very reasonable £14.99 for any of the same designs as the swaddle options. Designed to be easy to wash and quick to dry, these certainly have been designed with parents in mind.

Bloomsbury mill offers a range of other items on their website; from blankets and bedding, to practical items like pram pegs. They also cater for gifts including offering giftboxes, and personalised name blankets. Cleverly you can search by item type or design pattern, allowing easy collections to be created with different items with the same pattern.

A delivery charge of £3.99 is added to orders for delivery in 3 to 5 days however free UK delivery is actually then gifted to all orders over £20 which seems very reasonable. A next day delivery is also available for £5.95, perfect for those last minute gifts or necessity orders with a newborn!

I will certainly consider the brand in future, especially for gifts as the price certainly seems below that of many other well known baby gift websites and yet the quality does not seem to be compromised.
