As the UK’s biggest indoor theme park, Winter Wonderland has returned to Event City, Manchester for the 5th year running.

It’s my third year attending the event and I was extremely excited to take my children Heidi, 7 and Oliver 4 along with my husband to the event. My husband and son have never been to the even, so were looking forward to it very much.

The event opened at 6:30pm with live performances on stage from local acts, including singer Chloe Rose and a local dance act. It’s great that they are showcasing local talent at such a prestigious event, however, it would have been much better if the 30-minute show was a little shorter. After around 15/20 minutes, there were many children becoming restless and eager to start their fun inside the main attraction.

As you walk through the main entrance to the main event, you are showered with fake snow and there is an aurora of magical energy which hits you instantaneously. My children loved this and were super excited to get on the closest ride to them.

The whole place is jam packed with an array of rides to suit toddlers all the way up to teenagers/adults. The rides include the trust caterpillar ride, a selection of bouncy castles, dodgers, a LEGO building area and many more.

There is so much to see and do in addition to the rides. There are live shows, stalls to have your face painted or buy girly accessories, stalls like hook a duck where you can win prizes and a brilliant food area with picnic benches to sit and eat.

The live acts included a circus act, which is in the far corner of the attraction, and then there are shows such as Ollie and Daisy, which is a new Cartoonito show, a Star Wars inspired show and an Anna and Elsa princess show, these were performed on the live stage.

We watched the circus show only, with was performed by the Fantasia Circus. I haven’t seen the circus before and neither had my children, we were not disappointed. It was absolutely fantastic! We were fully engaged throughout, watching the aerial rope acts and the strong man act in awe. Definitely worth a visit.

Overall, we had a superb evening, the attraction lasts for around 4 hours and this was plenty of time to sample most of what is on offer. The thing I liked best about this event was that there were hardly any queues and the staff were so polite.
