This is the first of a trilogy set in modern-day Glasgow about Vampires brimming with terror and is a tale of terror, love and revenge.

It gets you hooked from page one with the punishment of a vampire and keeps you entertained until the last page and leaving you wanting more.

17 year old Layla and her ill mother settle in Glasgow after travelling around the world. They live with her mother’s sister, Kate. After her mother dies her world is in turmoil and she starts to discover her true self. She can hear and see things that are impossible and can smell blood from a mile away.

Regan is an American who arrived from travelling around Europe to go to college in Glasgow with his 2 very strange Irish friends Franky and Kite, who are not quite what they seem.

When Layla and Regan meet it starts off a tale of love, jealousy and revenge between the Vamps, Vampires and the protectors of Scotland, The Highlanders.

I enjoyed reading this book immensely and could not put it down and cannot wait for the second instalment. It is a very well written and exciting book of gothic terror and romance of vamps, vampires and covens in modern-day Scotland.

This is released just in time for Halloween on 27th October 2010 and is definitely a must read book.
