The Red Lion Pub Avebury Review
Red Lion
Avebury
Reviewed by Delphi Ellis
This olde english pub dates back to the 16th Century and boasts to be the most Haunted watering hole in the UK. The walls are adorned with stories of the pub's history which make interesting reading for anyone with a keen interest in this area. For those that don't, you still won't be disappointed. The service was excellent and great choice on the menu (with two further menus for toddlers and older children). A regular haunt (if you'll pardon the pun) for Prince Charles when he was taking part in a local archaeological dig, you can see why the meals are fit for a king. The pub is situated literally a few yards away from the ancient site of Avebury.
There is also a National Trust shop, clean public toilets and a gorgeous "Henge" shop selling crystals, books, jewellery and much more. Definitely a day out for all the family.
