It has been my dream to see The Lady Boys of Bangkok since I first a poster for them! I have from a young age been obsessed with Priscilla Queen of the Desert and films like it so this show was so me.

I was therefore delighted to be asked to review the cabaret show in Brighton, the place where anyone can be anything! I love the gardens the show is based on, I often have lunch in it so I knew where it was and the beach is right over the road so you can have a stroll before or after the show.

The first thing I noticed was how many people had turned up to see the show and how excited they all were which give a great atmosphere. As we were going in I was asked to discard my water bottle that was sealed as I couldn’t take it in which I found odd, I could understand alcoholic drinks but water? Also once inside I was able to get tap water, so I didn’t really understand the logic.

The show is hosted in a circus tent and looked great! Once inside we could smell the amazing Thai food on offer to buy. There was also a bar in the foyer and one inside the room the show was in, as well as Portaloo’s which were pretty clean.

We were shown to our table my friend commented how nice it was to be at table and not in rows of seats. The music was playing and everyone was very eager to see the show!

The show was beyond amazing, the Lady Boys were very beautiful and very fit! We loved all the songs and actors but Tina Turner and One Direction were so funny.

I also liked even the show was about Lady Boys there were males in the cast who also sang and took part in the show. My friend really loved the Beyonce act, the customers were amazing.

My expectations were met and more by this amazing show, the place was packed! I loved they used songs we all knew but added their own twists to them, the old ladies singing were so so funny.

Everyone I could see was clapping along and the cast really includes the public, all I could see were happy faces and smiles!

I would recommend this show to anyone, it would be great as a night out with friends but I think many mums and grandmothers would love it!

I also liked the fact they were raising money from a raffle for the street children of Bangkok, sadly I didn’t get to win a trip there but some lucky person did!
