Having never been to Stockport Plaza before, myself, my son and my mother took the commute via car from Bolton to Stockport. The theatre was easy to find and was well signposted. I was grateful to learn we could also park nearby free of charge after 6pm.

Upon collecting our tickets from the box office, we were greeted by numerous staff who greeted us and also asked whether we required any assistance, upon entering the auditorium the room was soon filled with the sound of a beautifully talented pianist playing up to date live music before the pantomime and during the interval.

The childhood story of ‘Snow White’  has several different twists that make it unique from the famous tale we all know and love, still not to miss the Wicked Queen, Prince Rupert, Huntsman, Nurse Glucose, Muddles The Jester and the cute seven dwarfs Moody, Brainy, Snoozy, Smiley, Tisha, Goopey and Dozey and King William.

A long time ago, a child was born to a queen and king and she was called Snow White. When the queen died, the king married again. This new queen was wicked and hated Snow White.

Snow White grew very beautiful and one day a Prince saw her at work and fell in love with her. The queen was beautiful too, and every day she asked her Magic Mirror, “Who is the fairest in the land?” and the mirror always answered, “You are the fairest one of all”. But one day the mirror answered Snow White was the fairest in the land, and in a rage the wicked queen gave orders to one of her Huntsmen to take Snow White into the woods and kill her.

The Huntsman had a kind heart and couldn’t do it so told her to run away. She fled into the woods where seven little dwarfs lived. Their house was small and strange.

Snow White entered the little house and finding it very untidy, started to clean up. Upstairs she found seven little beds. She was very tired and stretching out on one of the beds, was soon asleep.

When the Dwarfs came home they were surprised to find Snow White asleep, once she woke they decided to let her stay. She promised to cook and look after them.

The wicked queen discovered where Snow White was staying and disguising herself as a witch, took a poisoned apple and set out for the Dwarfs cottage.

She gave Snow White the poisoned apple to eat and as soon as she bit the apple, she was soon unconsciousness.

Thinking she was dead, the Dwarfs where beside themselves, laid her body on a table. Soon after, the Prince stumbled across Snow White He leaned over and kissed her. She opened her eyes and sat up with a smile, everyone was happy and the audience applauded and cheered.

The Prince took Snow White to his palace where they were married and lived happily ever after.

The actors also involved the audience a lot with shooting water through water pistols, and getting the audience to repeat what they were saying which was fun and resulted in the audience laughing in many many opportunities.

During the interval this gave us the opportunity to stretch our legs, use the toilet and to buy any beverages, snacks and light up gadgets for the children.

A brilliant pantomime, I would definitely watch this again. Thanks for a fabulous evening.
